Understanding Metaverse Events

The metaverse represents a series of budding 3D environments or digital realms fit for hosting unique events. Unlike popular belief, entry isn’t exclusive to those rocking their fancy VR headsets. Augmented reality (AR) gadgets, smartphones, game consoles, and computers also offer gateways. Inside, you can find an expansive 3D universe that’s both a reflection of our real world and an endless canvas for imaginative possibilities.

Metaverse events are collective gatherings focused on the metaverse’s vast landscape (seemingly endless). It’s not just an impressive tech demo at this point; it’s about the future of digital interaction, as seen in the investment interests of tech giants like Google and Apple. Once predicted to be an $800 billion industry by 2024, metaverse events discuss everything from new tech unveilings to collaborative ventures in sports, gaming, art… you name it! The key is that there are no physical limits to what can be achieved in an event in the metaverse.

Planning Your First Metaverse Event

Here are the 3 key factors to consider when planning a metaverse event. For the sake of clarity, let’s assume you are a crypto and NFT expert with your own project and want to host a metaverse event. Feel free to change the example with whatever you are!

Set an Objective & Theme

Start with a purpose. What do you want to achieve with your event? Whether it’s to inform, amuse, or a blend of both, your core intent will mold the setting and vibe of your event. Is it NFT trends you are interested in? Then create a virtual NFT gallery, perhaps with an in-built marketplace.

Know Your Audience

Tailor-fit the experience. Understanding your audience’s expertise and interests is crucial. If you’re hosting novices in the crypto realm, perhaps a virtual info-booth elucidating blockchain newbies would be ideal. Conversely, for the crypto-savvy, a deep-dive panel discussing the nuances and trajectories of digital currency might be the ticket.

Promote Your Event

Cast a wide net. Don’t just limit your promotional efforts to one realm. You are limitless in the metaverse. Harness both the tangible and virtual arenas. Seek to forge partnerships with key figures in the VR and crypto niches. The event promotion in the metaverse means transcending boundaries and the community is the key in crypto and their endorsement can serve as a magnet, drawing their followers to your event.

Choosing the Right Hosting Service

The metaverse is an expansive digital realm teeming with endless opportunities, but its true potential can only be realized when you find the right hosting services or metaverse platforms to host your events, interactions, or experiences. for your events or interactions.

  • User Experience: Different platforms offer various levels of immersion, interactivity, and customization. Your choice will directly impact the attendees’ experience and how they engage with the content.
  • Audience Reach: Some platforms have established vast communities, while others are niche. Choosing a platform frequented by your target audience increases the success rate of your event or activity.
  • Functional Needs: Depending on your event’s requirements—whether it’s a conference, concert, game, or workshop—certain platforms may be more suitable than others due to the specific tools and features they offer.
  • Security: With the virtual realm’s growth, ensuring the safety and privacy of your attendees is a must. No room for privacy concerns. The right platform will have robust security measures in place to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Cost and Monetization: Some platforms may come with high operational costs, while others might offer avenues for monetization, such as ticket sales, virtual goods, or advertising spaces.

Successful Metaverse Events

In 2021, the sports giant Nike launched their first Metaverse campaign with a branded digital world inside Roblox. It was one of the first significant efforts from a top-tier brand to blend sales, marketing, gamification and gaming. It also provided a virtual showroom where visitors could flaunt their avatars’ new virtual Nike gear.

MVMF22 marked a huge milestone for Over the Reality as they teamed up with Decentraland. This wasn’t just an ordinary collaboration but a cross-metaverse event where two major Web3 platforms took center stage. Rather than focusing solely on technological advancement, this partnership radiated music and joy worldwide. It’s worth noting that Over the Reality also set up a platform during Decentraland’s Metaverse Music Festival 2022. Future of Metaverse Events

As the physical and virtual worlds become more intertwined, we can expect to see more hybrid events. These would combine in-person experiences with metaverse components, allowing both on-ground and online participants to interact seamlessly.

Ah, there will be more opportunities for monetization too. Virtual merchandise, ticketing systems, branded virtual spaces, and in-event advertising might become significant revenue streams.

This could make experiences more tactile and emotionally resonant, from feeling the bass at a virtual concert to sensing the handshake of a business associate. So, expect to see, hear, and feel more in the metaverse. Maybe even smell too, but that is optional.

Beyond entertainment, the metaverse can be huge for educational events too Virtual classrooms, interactive training modules, and simulations will become commonplace, offering students and professionals deeper learning experiences.

What Now?
